does CHRISTIAN RAP music attract the youth to church?

“people run from what they don’t know and run towards what they are used to.”

 I find this to be true when it comes to music. In our generation rap music is all about material things. But still it continues to be one of the most popular types of music among the youth. The lifestyle of modern day rappers seem to attract the youth more than anyone . Rap music targets the youth with thoughts of happiness, security, and popularity. The music tells them that if you act like I cat and say what I say then you can be cool like me. Its nothing but lies. Gospel rap in my opinion attracts youth to the church, and makes them want to seek the power of God. Many young people today believe that there is no enjoyment in a Christian lifestyle. Christian rappers such as CBS (Connected by the Spirit) shows that living a Christian lifestyle can be fun. Christian rapper Young Truth said it best: “They say we cant have fun in our father’s house, if we do we hypocrites what is that about ?”. Gospel artists such as Young News and Young Truth from the group CBS provide both the beats and the message that attracts the youth into the church. Christian rap allows a gate way for young people. It helps get rid of the fear of religion and replaces it with a familiar form of musical enjoyment.
